Tyson Fury has made feelings clear about Anthony Joshua's opponent Daniel Dubois

Tyson Fury has previously compared Daniel Dubois to Rocky IV character Ivan Drago.

'DDD' is currently gearing up for a blockbuster showdown with Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium this weekend - risking his recently obtained IBF heavyweight title against the 34-year-old great who is eyeing a trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk or a long-awaited scrap with Fury, depending on the outcome of their December rematch.

However, Dubois of Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions is a tough task for any fighter to get the better of, holding an incredible 21-2 record with 20 career knockouts. Fury has previously sung his praises for Dubois, even though the two could cross paths in the squared circle.

Speaking to BT Sport, the 'Gypsy King' said: " Daniel Dubois. He's a big, strong lad and whatever he hits falls. He's like Ivan Drago, isn't he? 'I will hit you and break you, no matter what happens'." Despite only kicking off his boxing career seven years ago after ditching Team GB and Olympic gold medal hopes, Dubois has paved his way as a well-established heavyweight.

He was riding a 15-fight winning streak before he tasted defeat for the first time in a 2020 matchup with Joe Joyce for the British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver, WBO International, and the European heavyweight titles - failing to make the count in the tenth-round after a pin-point jab to an almost swollen-shut left eye.

Despite the setback, Dubois quickly resumed as an unstoppable force by making light work of Bogdan Dinu, Joe Cusumano, Trevor Bryan and Kevin Lerena before facing an undefeated Usyk for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO straps. He was ultimately bested by the Ukrainian in the ninth-round - a nasty right hand dropping him and leaving him on a knee for the count.

Usyk beat Fury in May to take his WBC title and become the latest man to become undisputed at heavyweight - but was stripped of his IBF belt the very next month for failing to take on mandatory challenger Dubois, instead keeping true to his word to rematch Fury in December.

Dubois beat Filip Hrgovic for the interim title in June, and was upgraded to IBF champion after Usyk relinquished the accolade - and a win over Joshua this weekend puts him in the picture for a bitter rematch with Usyk or a legacy fight with Fury for undisputed greatness of his own dependent on how their fight plays out this winter.
