More than €200k worth of cocaine seized at Dublin Airport as man, 20s, arrested

Revenue confirmed that as a result of risk profiling, officers seized approximately 2.8kg of suspected cocaine, which has an estimated value of €210,000.
The drugs were discovered concealed in luggage when Revenue officers stopped and searched a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Lisbon in Portugal.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested as part of the operation targeting the importation of illegal drugs and he remains detained at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí have arrested a man following a seizure of drugs by Revenue Officers at Dublin Airport, yesterday evening Friday 1st November 2024.
"Approximately 2.8kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €210,000 was seized by Customs Officers following the search of a man, who had arrived on an inbound flight.
"The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at a Garda Station in Dublin. Investigations are ongoing."
