Maura Higgins shares disgusting way she got revenge on sleazy ex

Maura Higgins won praise from her fellow I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmates as she shared how she once got revenge on an unfaithful ex.

The 33-year-old Irish reality star shot to fame in 2019 as a contestant on the fifth season of Love Island. The star has revealed that she decided to go on the show after abruptly breaking up with a boyfriend who she discovered had been sending messages to other women.

Maura - who is currently romantically linked to The Only Way Is Essex and Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks - got revenge on the man before she broke things off to jet to Love Island. Currently starring on ITV's I'm A Celeb, Maura told fellow campmates Jane Moore and Danny Jones about her story of betrayal and personal justice.

When Jane asked Maura how she came to be on Love Island, the Irish star explained: “So I had a boyfriend at the time” - and went on to detail how she went through his phone and made some devastating discoveries which left her feeling she "didn't know him at all". She then revealed: “I had a plan and no word of a lie, when he went to the gym the next day I got his toothbrush and I filmed myself scrubbing in the verges [of the toilet], he had a dentist appointment that day!”

She also announced: "I considered taking a dump on it." Her fellow campmates were stunned by her confession - and Danny exclaimed: “You don’t wanna mess with Maura!" Maura then revealed that the incident fuelled her to give her all inside the villa. She said: “I went in like a bull in a china shop because I was so angry about that whole thing”

Loose Women star Jane was impressed by the outcome and Danny gave Maura a high-five. Backing her further, Jane added: “You are fierce! I love it!” Fans watching along were also impressed and took to X to share support to the Love Island star too.

Her revelation went down a storm with viewers who took to X to celebrate her. One wrote: "Obsessed with Maura’s villain origin story being cheated on and scrubbing the loo with a toothbrush to then going on love island. A true diva #ImACeleb #imacelebrity."

While another wrote: "Maura is super funny. #ImACeleb." And a further fan praised the former Love Island contestant, writing: "Maura Higgins I am OBSESSED with you! #ImaCeleb."

Since leaving Love Island in 2019, Maura has enjoyed a string of high-profile relationships. Her romance with fellow Islander Curtis Pritchard fizzled out months after they returned to the UK - and she has since been linked to further Islander Chris Taylor, Strictly professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, and Hollywood stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton who steps in to take on the daunting challenges on screen for Chris Hemsworth.
