India is hosting the summit on September 12–13, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Putin begins three-day India visit, to hold talks with Modi

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India on Friday for a three-day visit that will include his participation in the BRICS summit and bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Putin, who is leading a high-level delegation, was received at the airport by Minister of State for External Affairs K V Singh.

The visit marks Putin’s first in-person participation in a BRICS summit outside Russia since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. Putin and Modi are scheduled to hold wide-ranging talks on Friday, with discussions expected to cover trade, investment, defence, energy, technology, pharmaceuticals and people-to-people ties.
