West Bengal First Cabinet Meeting Live Updates: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari today announced a five-year extension of age for application in government jobs, as promised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After the first cabinet meeting of the newly elected government in the state, Adhikari said all the central schemes benefitting the public, such as Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma, Beti Banchao Beti Parao, will soon be implemented in the state.

Meeting with top cops: Adhikari will also hold his first meeting with top police officers, including district police chiefs and officials of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Nabanna. The meeting with the top police officers will take place in the backdrop of alleged post-poll violence in the state, including the murder of Adhikari’s personal secretary Chandranath Rath, on the outskirts of Kolkata on May 6.

Three people were arrested in connection with the murder of West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari's aide, Chandranath Rath.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) detained and arrested the three accused on Sunday from Uttar Pradesh's Parganas district. Investigators said they used digital clues and interstate links to track down and arrest the accused in the alleged murder case.

"That digital payment helped investigators identify a mobile number and establish the identity of one of the suspects. The trail eventually led our teams to the accused," an officer told PTI.
