Delhi News Live Updates: A layer of fog has engulfed parts of Delhi as the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 292, categorized as “poor,” on Friday. The forecast issued by the Air Quality Early Warning System of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) stated that air quality is likely to remain in the ‘poor’ category (AQI between 200 and 300) until Saturday. It is expected to worsen to the ‘very poor’ category (between 300 and 400) on Sunday.

2 killed in fire in Farsh Bazar: At least two people lost their lives, and four were injured in a fire incident at a residential complex in Bholanath Nagar, Farsh Bazar, Delhi, on Friday. The deceased appear to have died from asphyxia, police said.

Meanwhile, a Delhi court is likely to issue its order on Friday regarding the bail application of AAP leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain in a money laundering case. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 30, 2022, on charges of laundering money through four companies allegedly linked to him. He is currently in judicial custody. Special Judge Rakesh Syal had reserved the order after hearing arguments from both the accused and the ED.

Commenting on the deteriorating air quality in Delhi, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said, "The Delhi government is working to reduce the pollution sources under its winter action plan. According to weather scientists, the weather is now turning unfavourable. Wind speed and temperature are decreasing. The Delhi government is promptly working to reduce the pollution sources. We are hopeful that with the help of people of Delhi, we will move forward to lessen the impact (of pollution)."

Delhi News Live Updates: 2 killed, 4 injured in fire in Farsh Bazar

At least two people lost their lives and four were injured in a fire incident at a residential complex in Bholanath Nagar, Farsh Bazar, Delhi on Friday. The deceased appear to have died from asphyxia , police said. As many as six fire tenders reached the spot immediately and doused the fire.
