Toxic Box Office Collection Day 8 Live Updates: Director Geetu Mohandas’ highly ambitious Yash-starrer Toxic continued its box-office freefall on Wednesday, September 2, as well, with daily earnings at less than Rs 6 crore. At this rate, the gangster film’s collection might even drop to lakhs in the coming days, rendering it a flop.

On Wednesday, the movie recorded an India nett collection of Rs 5.10 crore across 12,000 shows, bringing its total domestic earnings to Rs 234.70 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

The gangster film’s worldwide gross now stands at Rs 322 crore. During the day, the film witnessed an overall occupancy of 14.2 percent in the Hindi market. While the morning shows commenced with 10.15 percent occupancy, the rate never really improved as the day unfolded, standing at 13.46 percent in the afternoon, 12.69 percent in the evening, and 16.46 percent during the night screenings.

Unfortunately, Toxic’s daily earnings were even lower than those of director Vishal Chaturvedi’s Hanuman Ansh, based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, which has become a box-office sensation in recent days. On Wednesday, marking its 27th day in theatres, the devotional drama recorded an India nett collection of Rs 7.25 crore.

Despite support from film industry professionals over the past few days, with many openly backing it on social media and through other channels, Toxic hasn’t managed to gain momentum even now. From Dhurandhar’s Aditya Dhar to Kantara’s Rishab Shetty and Eega’s Kichcha Sudeepa, many have come forward in the past few days praising the movie.

Also starring Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles, Toxic was mounted on a reported budget of Rs 500 crore. It features cinematography by Rajeev Ravi, music by Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra, and Tanishk Bagchi, production design by TP Abid, editing by Ujwal Kulkarni, and action direction by JJ Perry, Anbariv, Kecha Khamphakdee, and Amrit Singh.

Toxic Region-wise Box Office: Hindi belt sees sharp drop in shows and occupancy by Day 8

Trade site Sacnilk shared that the Day 1 versus Day 8 numbers show a sharp correction for Toxic across major Hindi markets. NCR saw shows fall from 1,750 to 769, while occupancy dropped from 44.5% to 17.5%. Mumbai declined from 1,146 to 431 shows, with occupancy falling from 38% to 14%. Ahmedabad dropped from 895 to 415 shows and from 36.8% to 9.3% occupancy, while Surat fell from 647 to 314 shows, with occupancy plunging from 33% to just 4.5%.

Pune saw shows decline from 588 to 240, with occupancy dropping from 46.8% to 14.5%, while Kolkata fell from 436 to 198 shows and from 46% to 10.5% occupancy. Lucknow dropped from 263 to 124 shows, with occupancy falling sharply from 65.8% to 18.8%. Even Bengaluru’s Hindi circuit saw occupancy decline from 78% to 17%, although its show count remained relatively stable at 113 to 101.

Toxic Hindi Box Office: Yash-starrer 10th highest-grossing South Indian films

Across its first eight days, Toxic has collected Rs 142.50 crore net in Hindi, putting it within striking distance of Saaho’s Rs 149 crore lifetime Hindi collection. The film currently ranks 10th among the highest-grossing South Indian films in the Hindi market, behind Saaho (Rs 149 crore), Salaar (Rs 152 crore), 2.0 (Rs 188 crore), Kantara Chapter 1 (Rs 224.53 crore), RRR (Rs 277 crore), Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 295 crore), KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 434.62 crore), Baahubali 2 (Rs 511 crore) and Pushpa 2 (Rs 836.09 crore). At its current pace, Toxic needs just Rs 6.50 crore more to surpass Saaho and enter the Rs 150 crore club in Hindi.
