Fan slams Batwara 1947 music director AR Rahman

Navneet Mundhra's note on X read, "Let's be honest. One of the biggest reasons behind the box-office debacle of a GOOD film like #batwara1947 is ATROCIOUS music by #arrahman. Even the background music is terribly dull & stale... It fails to heighten the impact of crucial dramatic scenes. A film like 'Batwara 1947' needed impactful BMG & a few soul-stirring songs... as the content is anyway slightly niche. Now, compare the insipid music & BMG of this #rajkumarsantoshi film with ventures such as #lagaan & #rangdebasanti when Rahman was in PEAK form. I'm not sure why #aamirkhan chose Rahman. His last GOOD soundtrack for a Hindi movie was #tamasha in 2015... and last SUPERHIT one was perhaps #ghajini in 2008. Since then, the quality of his music has plummeted sharply. Composers like #anumalik, #nadeemshravan & many others were cast out in the cold after a few failures.... but Rahman continues to get plum project even after a decade of tame soundtracks. What can be the reason?"

'Sunny Deol and Shahbana Azmi are great' in Batwara 1947

User nsniks posted on Reddit, "Nice movie. 6.5/10. Sunny and Shahbana Azmi are great. I think Shahbana has great chance of bagging some awards in supporting actress category. Karan deol was horrendous. If there was a competent actor in place of Karan, he would have elevated couple of scenes. Abhimanyu Yadav was ok ok and his Pakistani punjabi accent was also bad in some places. I liked Rahman BGM, and I loved how the climax played out. Overall a nice movie that you can watch with family."

All eyes on Batwara 1947's weekdays collection now

Trade analyst Joginder Tuteja took to X to post, "Batwara 1947 Weekend updates. The film had an underwhelming opening weekend. The start wasn’t as per the credentials involved, though Saturday saw excellent growth with #independenceholiday also doing its bit. Sunday was better than Friday but sharp drop from Saturday was noticeable. Friday - 5.25 crores Saturday - 12.65 crores Sunday - 7.10 crores Total - 25 crores For the subject of the film, these numbers are fair, but for the starcast and the scale, one expected a lot better. All eyes on weekdays now, though for those to be reasonable, Monday would need to be really close to Friday, which would be a tough ask. #sunnydeol."

He posted, "A film loaded with emotions & humanity, #batwara1947 is a nuanced watch with brilliant performances by #shabanaazmi ji & #sunnydeol Sir. Restrained & effective act by #alifazal & good antagonist act by #abhimanyusingh. Brilliant sparks seen in the film but unfortunately #rajkumarsantoshi ji could not bind the entire film together to make it into a remarkable heart wrenching outing. Music by #arrahman is huge let down too. Still would strongly recommend this film for its heart, soul & mesage !!!
