Campaigning for the November 30 MCD bypolls concluded on November 28, setting the stage for the ruling BJP’s first major electoral test after its victory in the February Assembly elections, where it won 48 of 70 seats and formed a government in the Capital after 27 years.

The MCD bypolls for 12 wards recorded a voter turnout of 12.63% till 11.30 am, according to the State Election Commission.
Ward Sangam Vihar A saw the highest turnout at 19.98%, followed by Mundka, where 17.02% of voters had cast their ballot.

5.40% polling in first two hours of MCD bypolls
Voting for the MCD bypolls across 12 vacant wards began on Sunday morning with a steady turnout in the initial hours. According to EC's initial data, 5.40 per cent of voters had cast their ballots by 9:30 am, two hours after polling opened.
