Delhi MCD By Election Result 2025 Live Updates: The results to all 12 seats where MCD byelections were held on November 30 have been declared. The BJP won 7 seats, AAP won 3, while the Congress and the Left bagged 1 seat each.

High-stakes election for the BJP: While the AAP and the Congress attempt to regain the lost influence in Delhi, it’s a high-stakes election for the BJP as its the first major contest following its historic February Assembly polls win. After casting her vote, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, posted an appeal for citizens to exercise their franchise and said, “because it is only through this vote that they will be able to choose the suitable representative for themselves, and Delhi’s development will gain momentum.”

Voter turnout: In the byelection held in 12 wards of the MCD on November 30, a voter turnout of 38.51 per cent was recorded till 5:30 pm. The polling took place across 580 booths, where 51 candidates, including 26 women, were fielded. The seats were vacated by councillors who were elected in the Assembly and Parliament. Chandni Mahal recorded the highest voter turnout at 55.93 per cent. Currently, the BJP has 116 councillors in the 250-member MCD House, while AAP has 99, Indraprastha Vikas Party 15 and Congress 8.
