Delhi Building Collapse Live Updates: The toll after the building collapse rose to seven on Monday noon, after two more persons succumbed to their injuries. Tweleve people have been rescued. The Delhi Court has agreed to urgently hear a PIL on the building collapse incident. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended South Zone Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar and four engineers following the building collapse at Satya Niketan, Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi said.

Lookout notice against owner: A day after a building housing a private hostel collapsed in Delhi, an FIR has been registered against the building owner, Hariram. The Delhi Police is set to issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Hariram. The MCD has ordered the demolition of a building adjacent to the ill-fated building. The owner of property no. 13 has been given three days to demolish the structure, which the MCD said posed a threat to residents, passersby and nearby buildings.

Delhi CM oversees day 2 rescue operations: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday visited Satya Niketan to oversee the second day of search and rescue operations following the building collapse. The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial probe and an FIR against the building owner. CM Gupta also met the injured at AIIMS and promised strict action against those responsible.

Suspension of South Zone DC Rakesh Kumar, 4 engineers after ‘careful consideration’, says Delhi Mayor

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended South Zone Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar and four engineers following the building collapse at Satya Niketan, Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi said.

Speaking about the action, Wahi said the decision was taken after “serious and careful consideration” and following instructions from Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. He said all officials were working with sensitivity and every effort was being made to ensure the safety of people in the city.

The Mayor said the action was also intended to send a message to officials and the public that incidents such as the Satya Niketan building collapse should not be repeated.

Delhi hostel collapse: MCD deputy commissioner, four engineers suspended

A senior MCD official has been suspended a day after a building housing a private hostel collapsed in Delhi, killing seven people.

An MCD Vigilance Department order said the Deputy Commissioner of the South Zone was suspended with immediate effect under the DMC Services (Control & Appeal) Regulations, 1959. Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Assistant Engineer, and Junior Engineer have also been suspended. The official will be paid a subsistence allowance as per the rules.

Delhi building collapse: NDRF searches for one more person in debris

The NDRF and Fire Service teams are searching the debris of the Satya Niketan building collapse for one more person who is believed to be unconscious. NDRF IG Narendra Singh Bundela said 12 people have been retrieved so far. Bundela said there was no confirmed figure on how many people could still be trapped inside. Six were declared dead and five were admitted to hospitals. He said the rescue operation is expected to continue through the day, with teams using sniffer dogs to search the debris.
