Alycia Baumgardner vs. Jennifer Miranda

Round 1: Baumgardnern in black and gold, Miranda in blue and white. Baumgardner holding the center early as both women feel each other out. Miranda probing with her lead hand but neither has landed anything. Very cautious from both. Baumgardner with a couple to the body. Truly not a lot happened here.

Round 2: Things are nearly as slow this round. Baumgardner comes out and immediately forces the issue, swinging heavy and lands a good right. Miranda fires back and Miranda hits the canvas but it was ruled a trip as they were inside. Left hook from Baumgardner. She looks supremely confident right now as Miranda pokes the jab out there. Nice rice hand over the top from Baumgardner. Miranda lands a left in return and Baumgardner lands another with a left behind it.

Round 3: Baumgardner marching Miranda down right away and lands a strong lead hook as she gets Miranda in the corner. Miranda flurries to back her up but Baumgardner is almost recklessly in her face now. Baumgardner seems to have no fear of return fire but she eats a right hand. Miranda moving around and landing fairly well. Baumgardner playing the bully but slows up as Miranda landed a few good ones and get her off the plan. Baumgardner not landing much now as Miranda took the wind out of her sails.

Round 4: Baumgardner coming forward a little more intentionally, behind the jab. And then she clubs Miranda with a right hand. Miranda upping her volume. But then nothing happens for a long stretch. Puzzling performance from Baumgardner who has stopped throwing anything. She jabs the body and Miranda fires a combo in return. Miranda with the volume but once she opens up, Baumgardner cracks here. Baumgardner has the speed and power but Miranda is out-working her for big stretchs.

Round 5: Baumgardner with a solid jab to start. She’s sticking the body regularly now, setting up a bigger shot I guess. Miranda stays busy. Baumgardner switches stances for a bit but again, there is so little being done for big stretches. Baumgardner lands a decent hook. She’s much quicker especially as the pace has slowed. Miranda staying scrappy but Baumgardner lands some solid rights to the body.

Round 6: Miranda doesn’t seem to have the tools to really threaten Baumgardner. But they scrap a bit early in this round with both landing in an exchange. Baumgardner trying to line up a big shot, Miranda seems to be out of ideas other than make it messy when she can. But that’s working in spots. If she does it too long then Baumgardner finds a cleaner shot, but in spurts it gets Baumgardner off kilter. Miranda punching and brawling and Baumgardner engaging her there.

Round 7: Baumgardner closing the ring off and lands a left but Miranda flurries back. Miranda is not going away. They stand toe-to-toe in the center for a bit and Baumgardner lands much better in that exchange. Baumgardner changing levels well, and then lands a nice left hook as Miranda tries to force a brawl. Miranda showing her toughness in this round as she’s eating plenty in there.

Round 8: Miranda is digging in and coming forward this round, and she scores early with it. can get bullied in moments and Miranda is trying her best. But back in space and Baumgardner lands a nice right hand that nearly spins Miranda around. Baumgardner backing up looking for the counters and Miranda obliges. Both women looking winded but both keep the pressure on.

Round 9: Baumgardner with the jab early. She’s moving Miranda around with it. Honestly, she’s barely throwing the power hand, picking Miranda off with the jab. Miranda tries to make it grimy, but Baumgardner prevents. Miranda lands a nice long right hand. Baumgardner marches into the clinch. Miranda showing a lot of damage but she may be the fresher of the two right now. Neither landing much of significance though as they in-fight to the bell.

Round 10: Last round and all to play for. Scorecards could be ALL over the place. Both women letting the hands fly and Baumgardner lands a good combo. She’s really emptying the tank, flinging punches with reckless abandon as they get inside and in the clinches. Baumgardner shooting hooks everywhere. She’s scoring as Miranda tries to keep up with the avalanche. Referee warning for tying up. They get in the phone booth and swing. Miranda is not giving an inch and Baumgardner is swinging them. Short time and they both punch until the bell. Miranda raises her hands and believes she’s won. I’m not so sure but it was a fun scrap.

Savannah Marshall vs. Shadasia Green

Round 1: Green is out in blue, Marshall in red with white shorts. Both women meet in the middle and start flashing their jabs. Early tie up with Marshall landing a decent right on the break. Green gets a bit sloppy with a punch and Marshall lands a good right. And the same sequence with Marshall landing that dipping counter overhand right. And another. Green putting her chin right in the line of fire, but she’s eating this all well. Marshall moving Green around the ring right now and Green has dropped the offense.

Round 2: Both women meet in the middle again and clinch early. Marshall putting the jab out consistently and Green trying to find ways past it. She lands a nice short left hook. But they get inside again and Marshall digs the body. Green still getting a little sloppy, but now she’s adding her own counter to Marshall’s counter right. That left lands again. Another clinch and the referee calls time to warn Green for holding too much.

Round 3: Marshall with some fire to start this round, charging right across and firing. Not much lands and a clinch but there’s an accidental headbutt. Referee notes it and moves on. Green lands a nice 1-2 as Marshall keeps bullying forward. Another clinch and some in-fighting. Marshall making this gritty on the inside with pressure but Green starting to land now. Marshall gets inside and fires and they tie up. Getting a bit repetitive but Marshall lands a decent right at the bell.

Round 4: Marshall right back to it at the start with her pressure. Interesting choice when Green is doing worse at range. But Marshall has a plan and she’s got a lot of volume coming now. Another clinch and the referee deducts a point from Green! WOW. She held in the clinch but man that felt quick. I guess he did warn her, but yeesh.

Marshall right back at it. Green not holding now and Marshall hits her. Will she change up? More clinches. Marshall keeps coming in and Green grabs, leading to an immediate break. Green lands a nice left hook but Marshall keeps coming at her.

Round 5: Green gonna need to change things up. We start in space this round and Marshall lands a looping right over the top in an exchange. Green tags Marshall with a good right and Marshall bulls forward and clinches. She’s talking and maybe a bit hurt? The crowd comes alive and Marshall keeps coming forward as Green tries to get to space and let fly again. She senses a moment and she’s on the attack but Marshall doing a good job of smothering, slipping, and working. Green takes a moment and lands another big right! Marshall has her legs under her but she’s not loving this. Green looking a touch gassed in there though as the round ends.

Round 6: Early clinch and then Green lands a sharp left hook as Marshall was looking for the right. Green might need to step on it right now because Marshall looks tentative. Green with some nice boxing as Marshall throws lazy volume, slipping and landing. Another headbutt from Marshall on a clinch but ref misses this one. Marshall fully on the pressure but eats a left hook. The energy of this fight has completely changed. Green looks very calm in there.

Round 7: Marshall needs to change things up now and it’s Green that’s marching forward. Marshall goes back to her jab. Green goes to the body. Referee warns for head clashes from both women. Marshall getting that jab going again. She needs it. It was a big weapon early and she got away from it. Short hooks from both women as they get inside. Nice right hand from Green as Marshall steps in. She’s found her rhythm.

Round 8: Green looks fresh and lands a nice jab early. Showing fast hands. Marshall moving her around the ring, but Green is landing better. Marshall kinda clumsily rushing in. But she lands on that one. Green with a jab as Marshall comes in. Neither woman landing cleanly yet. But a nice right hand from Marshall that Green shakes off. That was her best punch in some time. Green is waiting too much this round. Very little offense and Marshall edges it out with activity.

Round 9: Nice right hand from Marshall to start. She charged in with vigor and lands a pair after it. Then gets warned for leading with the head. Green fully on the counter plan and that could be a problem. Waiting a lot. Marshall lands a good combo to the body. Then Green lands back. Both women landing. Nice exchange of hooks but Marshall is outworking here. Green looking winded. Marshall lands a left. Is Green giving this fight away?

Round 10: Green’s corner telling her to go for the finish. Marshall’s telling her Green is behind. Both may be correct. But Marshall comes out throwing and lands a right. Marshall willing herself forward here and Green still waiting for the big counter. If she doesn’t get it, what might have been for her? Marshall lands and Green gets her with a good one. Marshall clinching now when they get in close. Marshall keeps coming forward. Green lands in close. More clinching and in-fighting. Clock is ticking away and Green lands a good one, getting Marshall to back off and they fight in close until the end. And even past the end because the crowd was on its feet and they didn’t hear the final bell.
