Arsenal thrash Manchester City to win Community Shield

The Gunners made a flying start and took the lead within the opening seconds of the game.
Myles Lewis-Skelly found Riccardo Calafiori inside the box, and the Italian kept his composure to slot the ball past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Arsenal doubled their lead before half-time when Donnarumma failed to hold Kai Havertz’s header, allowing the ball to end up in the net.
Martin Odegaard then completed the victory with Arsenal’s third goal after dribbling into the box and finding the back of the net.
The victory gives Mikel Arteta’s side their first silverware of the 2026/27 season.
Arsenal will begin their Premier League title defence against Coventry City on Friday, while Manchester City will face Bournemouth.
