If he doesn’t take care, I’ll expose him – NPP chief issues warning to Kodua
by Miss Naa · MyNewsGh.comNana Nkansah Buadu Ayeboafo, Chief of Agric Nzema in the Ashanti Region, has criticised NPP General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua over the party’s decision to cancel the Afigya Sekyere East constituency executive election, warning that he would publicly expose him if their disagreement continues.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM, the chief, who is also Chairman of the Council of Elders for the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency and a member of the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders, alleged that Kodua influenced the decision because of personal interests in the affected constituencies.
“If they dare me this morning, they will see what I will do to them,” he said.
Questioning the party’s decision-making process, he added, “If something like this has happened and the Steering Committee has discussed the issue, why didn’t they refer it to the National Executive Committee (NEC)? It is pure hatred and greed and this is something they planned to do.”
The chief also compared Kodua’s leadership with that of former NPP General Secretary John Boadu and former Local Government Minister Dan Botwe.
“When Dan Botwe was there, he was really working. John Boadu also defended the party, but this Kodua is only concerned about what will go into his stomach,” he alleged.
He further warned the NPP General Secretary against confronting him publicly.
“Kodua, I dare him. If he doesn’t take care, the things I will say about him will make him regret it. He came looking for money and not to work for the party. It seems he is afraid of Okatakyie Afrifa, so whenever issues concerning him arise, he defends him,” he claimed.
Nana Nkansah Buadu also insisted that no fresh constituency executive election would be allowed to take place in Afigya Sekyere East despite the party’s decision to annul the earlier results.
The dispute follows the cancellation of constituency executive elections in three Ashanti Region constituencies after the NPP said the polls had been conducted in breach of party rules and directives.
The Afigya Sekyere East election was disrupted after parliamentary aspirant and media personality Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah and members of his team arrived at the venue to serve what they said was a court order injuncting the election.
The incident led to disturbances and the arrest of Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah and members of his team, who remain in police custody.
