Chelsea set Premier League record despite defeat to Arsenal

Chelsea set a new Premier League record on Sunday despite their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Morgan Rogers gave the Blues an early lead against the Gunners.

However, Arsenal fought back to secure their third straight league win of the season, with Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard scoring for the champions.

Rogers’ early goal meant Chelsea became the first team in Premier League history to score within the opening five minutes of each of their first three matches of a season.

Xabi Alonso’s side took just one minute to take the lead through Joao Pedro in their 3-2 win over Fulham.

Chelsea also scored early in their 4-3 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge, with Romeo Lavia poking the ball over the line.
