Controversial Akufo-Addo statue at Effia Nkwanta destroyed

It is not clear who was involved in this vandalism, but the entire statue has been toppled and destroyed, with the head to the knee level smashed.
This is not the first time the statue has been vandalized, as part of the leg was chopped off some weeks ago.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was heavily criticized after the statue was put up because his government did not fulfil its numerous promises to the people of the Western Region.
What’s even more worrying is the fact that where the statue is situated is on an untarred road.
Reactions on social media suggest that this is welcoming news, as many were against the idea of a statue for the former president.
