Fire Service outline major steps to protect markets from fires

The Ghana National Fire Service has provided details of how they intend to fight market fires.

Since the beginning of the year, several markets across Ghana have been razed by fire, the causes of which are yet to be ascertained.

The fires started at Kantamanto, with the recent one engulfing the Techiman Central Market.

The Chief Fire Officer shared details of how the service intends to fight the fires in a statement shared via social media.

The service intends to have a dedicated task force patrolling markets to ensure a swift response in case of any fire outbreak.

The establishment of fire units in key markets across the country to intensify safety education, conduct inspections and ensure compliance with fire safety protocols.
