Auckland Mayor calls for FC fan parade to celebrate A-League win
· RNZCrowds swelled into the thousands as football fans flocked to a parade in central Auckland celebrating their team's success.
Auckland FC clinched a one-nil over five-times Grand Final champs, Sydney FC at Go-Media Stadium in Penrose last night.
The victorious team travelled by bus down Queen St to Britomart on Sunday morning, where speeches were delivered in their honour.
Auckland mayor Wayne Brown had called on FC fans to attend the parade after the team won against Sydney FC in the A-League Grand Final.
Brown was among the crowd of 28,000 at Go Media Stadium on Saturday night.
Brown said even if fans weren't at the game, they should come along and celebrate.
