Rocks thrown through Canterbury MP Matt Doocey's car
· RNZA Canterbury MP's sign-written car has been damaged by a rock that was thrown through the back window.
Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey has posted photos of the damage on social media.
He said there were CCTV cameras nearby and the vandalism had been reported to police.
Doocey said he had never been targeted by vandals in his 11 years as an MP.
"I don't think we want to live in a community where our private property is damaged like this.
"I pride myself on being quite an accessible MP, someone who always works hard to respect other people's views and have never had anything like this happen before."
He said it would not stop him doing his work.
"I'm still going to be out and about as accessible as possible and talking to the people I represent."
