State Highway 2 blocked by fallen poles, trees

State Highway 2 is blocked near Whakamārama in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Police say fallen power poles and trees are blocking the stretch near the intersection of Pahoia Road and Tauranga West Road.

No injuries have been reported and diversions are in place, but they are not suitable for heavy vehicles.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
