Girl airlifted to hospital after falling from a horse in dunes
by Sage Swinton · Newcastle HeraldA young girl has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a horse in dunes at Fullerton Cove at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to sand dunes off Coxs Lane about 3.30pm on Saturday, May 2.
A spokesperson for Ambulance NSW said a young girl fell from a horse, and suffered back and arm pain.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was also deployed to the scene.
The girl was treated by paramedics and the helicopter's critical care medical team for her injuries at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
Separately, the rescue helicopter was also deployed to a trail bike incident on May 2 at Cells River, near Nowendoc, west of Port Macquarie.
A man aged in his 60s was treated on scene by paramedics for multiple injuries before being transported by road to Nowendoc to meet the helicopter's critical care medical team.
The man was further treated and stabilised before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
