Lake Macquarie service station at centre of police operation

Police have swarmed a Warners Bay service station as part of a police operation on Friday.

Witnesses confirmed a police operation had been under way at the King Street business on Friday, September 11.

A NSW Police spokesperson declined to provide initial details as investigations continue.

It is understood no-one was injured in the incident, which unfolded on Friday morning.

Police tape remained up around the service station during the morning and into the afternoon.

By the afternoon the business was open and operating.

In statement, fuel provider Ampol said it was aware of an incident that had unfolded at its King Street service station at Warners Bay and was "providing necessary support as required".

No one was injured, a company spokesman confirmed, adding that staff had "responded swiftly".

The matter was referred to police, they said.
