Pedestrian dies in hospital after crash

A pedestrian involved in a collision in Westport last week has died, police say.

Westport resident Barry Kevin Shand, 79, died after the crash in Derby St on June 9 which also involved a car. 

In a statement on Monday morning, police said Shand was transported to hospital in a serious condition and died there on June 12.

"Our thoughts are with his loved-ones at this difficult time."

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were continuing.
