‘I was attacked by police officers in Lagos’ — Ijoba Lande cries out

The allegations emerged through a now-widely circulated video posted on Friday.
In the footage, Lande appears visibly distressed, struggling to see and requesting water from bystanders.
According to the caption accompanying the post, the incident occurred just six days after he returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.

He further alleged that the officers assaulted him and confiscated his personal belongings during the encounter.
“I came back from the UK 6 days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria,” the caption read.
“They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life.”
POLICE IDENTIFY, DETAIN OFFICERS INVOLVED

In response to the viral video and public outcry, Abimbola Adebisi, Lagos state police public relations Officer, confirmed they are aware of the incident.

She stated that the officers implicated have been identified and are under investigation.
“The officers involved have been identified and brought forward to the Command for investigation,” her post reads.
“At the moment, both the officers, the actor, and his friend are giving their statements. Further developments will be communicated accordingly. #SayNoToImpunity.”
