Former Brave Girls member Yujeong set to host first-ever Christian dating reality show

CBS announced that its original content, 'Christian Blind Date,' will premiere on its YouTube channel Christian blind date on March 6. The program adapts the university “group dating” culture to church communities and offers a wholesome introduction platform for singles who share a Christian faith.

Unlike conventional, sensationalized dating shows, 'Christian Blind Date' introduces a “real-time dating” format. Participants’ friends act as cupids and appear alongside them, while the MC and cupids observe the dating process live. This setup aims not only to capture the excitement of first meetings but also to highlight the warmth and interpersonal bonds characteristic of church communities.

The show will be hosted by singer Yujeong, formerly of BB GIRLS (Brave Girls) , and comedian Kim Kiri. Both will serve as MCs and cupids, supporting the participants on-site and injecting energy into the program. Yujeong, who refers to herself as a “returned prodigal,” will offer messages of empathy and encouragement to young Christians navigating life’s uncertainties.

The first episode will feature the inaugural “church dating” group, introducing participants from diverse professions, including an IT company CEO, pianist, and educational entrepreneur. Their faith-driven activities, such as volunteering for the homeless, teaching English in worship services, and leading movement classes, will also be showcased.

The production team stated, “We hope to offer viewers a warm and gentle form of entertainment, providing a healing alternative to typical sensational dating shows. Our goal is to promote a positive image of church communities and present a healthy vision of young Christian life.”

Yujeong has previously connected with audiences through her bright and cheerful energy on KBS2’s 'Diet,' ENA’s 'Hype Boy Scout,' and various web content projects. She recently ended a year-long public relationship with actor Lee Kyu Han in August 2024.
