TWICE member Sana is taking on a new challenge.

On July 8, JYP Entertainment confirmed to Dispatch, "Sana will be making her big-screen debut. She has received an offer to star in the upcoming Korean-Japanese co-produced film 'Nyangi' (working title)."

The project marks Sana's first foray into acting. She debuted as a member of TWICE in October 2015 and has since also promoted as part of the group's Japanese subunit, MISAMO.

Sana is reportedly set to star opposite Japanese actor Takeru Satoh, who is well known to Korean audiences for his roles in various TV series and the Rurouni Kenshin film series.

The two have worked together before. Satoh previously appeared in teaser content for MISAMO's debut album, Masterpiece.

Meanwhile, 'Nyangi' is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of this year.
