KATSEYE wins ‘New Artist of the Year’ at 2026 AMAs

The 2026 AMAs took place on May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. On the day, KATSEYE beat out Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean and sombr to claim the rookie artist trophy.
Yoonchae, the group’s only Korean member, shared her gratitude during the acceptance speech, saying, “I’m thankful to be able to share this moment with the members.”
KATSEYE also expressed appreciation to BTS, who attended the ceremony. The group said, “We also want to thank BTS for being here with us today. They inspired us to express our culture globally.”
KATSEYE is a global girl group formed through the large-scale audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy', which attracted 120,000 applicants worldwide. The team was created through a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records.
