Shraddha Kapoor breaks silence on debate over Stree 2's success, 'I believe it was...'

The Stree 2 credit row ruled headlines for a few days post the film did wonders at the box office. Finally, Shraddha Kapoor has commented on it.

Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi is the most successful Bollywood film on 2024. The horror comedy broke all the box office records and made Rs 800 crore at the global box office. In India, the movie crossed the mark of Rs 600 crore with its gross collection. Fans could not stop raving about the film. But as the film turned out to be a success, there was a debate over who is responsible for it.

Post the success of Stree 2, there was a lot of hullabaloo around the PR battle defining who actual is responsible for the film's massive success. There were many who stated that it was a Shraddha Kapoor film, while others credited her co-stars for the success. The debate started with Aparshakti Khurrana commenting on PR strategies and more making headlines in entertainment news segments. Abhishek Banerjee who played Janaa also shared his two cents on the credit row and shared that it is time to evolve.

Now, Shraddha Kapoor has broken her silence on the same. In an interview with Indian Express, Shraddha Kapoor set the record straight and mentioned that it was a team effort. The actress spoke about the love and accolades received by first part of the film and mentioned that the director, writer and producer did a commendable job by cracking a sequel. She shared that it is important to substance to make a sequel and bring people to the theatres. She said, "It had all the entertainment factors, brilliant actors and really entertaining dialogues. I believe it was a fabulous team effort. It was pure cinematic joy." further adding, "And ultimately, the audience decides, right? They leave their homes seeking entertainment and we’re happy we could deliver."

The actress mentioned that the director has informed her about the third instalment and that she cannot wait to read the script for the same and know more.
