A former US Marine who had been imprisoned in Russia since 2022 is back on American soil, flown home on a State Department plane with his mother at his side.

Russia just freed former US Marine Robert Gilman, 32, and sent him home on a State Department plane with his mother beside him.

Gilman had been jailed since 2022 for allegedly kicking a police officer while drunk, a charge his family called false.

Weeks before his release, he was moved to a hospital psychiatric ward in what doctors described as a “dissociative stupor.”
