Jerusalem, Israel - Two gunmen, on Monday, September 8, opened fire at a bus stop at a busy intersection in north Jerusalem, Israel.
As reported by CNN, the attack claimed the lives of at least five people and injuring another 12.
The media outlet cited Israeli police, emergency rescue services and local hospitals as providing the figure.
BBC also reported the unfortunate development.
Police said the attackers shot people waiting at a bus stop, while Israeli media reported the attackers also boarded a bus and opened fire inside. A security officer and a civilian shot the attackers soon after the incident began, halting the attack.
Among the dead was a man of about 50 years old, three men aged around 30 and a woman of about 50, but their full identities are not immediately known.

Hamas hails Jerusalem attack
Hamas hailed the Jerusalem attack and called on the Palestinians to “escalate the confrontation with the occupation and its settlers”.
Calling the shooting a “heroic operation”, the Palestinian militant group said:
“We affirm that this operation is a natural response to the occupation’s crimes and war of extermination it is waging against our people.”
The group, however, did not take responsibility for the attack.
Netanyahu visits Jerusalem shooting site
Meanwhile, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at the scene of the deadly Jerusalem attack.
He conducted a situation assessment of the attack with the heads of Israel's security system.
Netanyahu said at the scene of the attack:
"We are in an intense war against terror on several fronts. I want to send condolences to the families of the dead and to the wounded.
"A pursuit and encirclement of the villages from which the terrorists came is underway. One of the people who killed the terrorist was an ultra-Orthodox soldier from the Hashmonaim Battalion.
"These murders, these attacks, on all fronts, they do not weaken us. They only increase our determination to complete the missions we have taken upon ourselves, in Gaza, in Judea and Samaria, everywhere."

Jerusalem city suffers amid war
