Galatasaray coach reacts to win over Ajax

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk was delighted with his team's performance and applauded his players for the big win at a difficult away ground.

Buruk reiterated that Galatasaray’s dream is to finish in the top eight and avoid the knockout playoffs, and they currently sit ninth on the table after four matches.

“We talked about it yesterday, and we talked about it before the match today, actually. Our goal was to get out of here with a win,” he told GS TV.
“We want to reach nine points in the standings and vault ourselves into the top eight. We're currently in ninth place, and the next match might offer us a chance to break into the top eight. That's what we always dream of, aim for, and want.”

The Turkish manager had nothing to complain about with his players and appreciated their efforts in the 2025/26 Champions League match.

“In terms of player performances, all our players were very good. Everyone who started, finished, and came on later did their best. I want to thank them all,” he said.

The manager is not dwelling on the win and has shifted his focus to the league game against Kocaelispor on Sunday.
