Manchester City have earned a significant amount of money after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley Stadium to win the 2025/26 FA Cup final.
The first half ended in a stalemate as both teams battled back and forth with no breakthrough under the sunny afternoon at the iconic stadium.
Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute with a fine strike that Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez had no response to.
The Citizens ended their run of two consecutive defeats in the FA Cup final, having lost to Manchester United and Crystal Palace in the last two finals.

For the world champions, the defeat extended their run of consecutive final losses at Wembley to seven, starting from the 2019 Carabao Cup final loss to City.
How much Man City earned
As confirmed by The FA, both teams arrived in the final with £2,024,500 in their pockets having won all five games they played heading on their way to reaching the final.
Pep Guardiola’s side earned an additional £2,120,000 for winning the final, while runners-up Chelsea received an additional £1,060,000.
Manchester City earned £4,144,500 for the win, while runners-up Chelsea pocketed £3,084,500, accumulated from the third round winnings.
Guardiola reacts to Man City’s win
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was delighted with the trophy and added that despite their protest performance in the last three finals, they won today by the finest margins.
“We’re really pleased. This trophy is really cool and the tradition [with it],” Pep said, as quoted by Mancity.com.
“It’s special to win but I had the feeling that last season against Crystal Palace and two seasons ago against United we were better than today but these types of games, the margins are so minimal.
McFarlane reacts to Chelsea's loss
Chelsea's interim boss Calum McFarlane believes that there was not much difference between the two sides, and it was a game between two really good sides.
“I thought it was an evenly matched game. Both teams had moments of control. Both teams had momentum at different times. Two really good sides,” he said via chelseafc.com.
“I've got a lot of respect for Manchester City and what they've done over the last period of success. So congratulations to them first. A disappointing result, but a very evenly matched game.”
McFarlane’s time will end after the final game as multiple reports confirmed that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Xabi Alonso to become the next manager.
What McFarlane said before the match
Legit.ng previously reported that Calum McFarlane told Chelsea players what they must do to win the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The team keyed into their interim boss’ ideas, but it was not enough against Pep Guardiola’s side and they narrowly lost the final to a superior side.
