Stanley Osifo, the presidential aspirant and sole contender with President Bola Tinubu in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election, has said he will never do anything that will jeopardise the party.
In a short video trending on social media, the Edo businessman expressed his readiness to accept the outcome of the primary elections, where President Tinubu has already been declared the winner in several states, including Rivers and Delta.
He described himself as a committed party man who cannot be pushed, irrespective of the outcome of the APC presidential primary. He said such outcomes were coming from the electoral process and that he had to abide by it.

"As a party man and as a member of the front, I don't have to fight my party. And I will never do that, irrespective of whatever it is. That's an outcome of electoral processes. I must abide by the Party. So no matter what happens, I don't see anything that will make me do things that are inimical to my party or be pushed. There are some actions people take, they just want you upset, get angry, and say certain things against your Party. I cherish my Party so much. So I would never allow anyone to push me."
APC primaries: Nigerians react as Osifo speaks
Meanwhile, the revelation by the presidential aspirant has started generating reactions from Nigerians. Below are some of their reactions:
Skood said Osifo was only used to play politics:
"If you know what a placeholder is, this is a clear example. This individual was used to make the Tinubu APC primary appear competitive. It is frustrating that our politicians are too lazy to even come up with anything original, and they don’t even respect the public enough to design more sophisticated political strategies."
Mazi Ogbonnia commended the mindset of the politician:
"This is a very patriotic, expressive mindset; if everyone had this type of mindset, politics would never be a dying affair. But I pray it translates into actions and not just words because personal ambition shouldn't override the people's interest. I stand to be corrected, please."
Probosis commented:
"This comes from a stooge who was planted to give a semblance of legitimacy to an exercise with a predetermined outcome. A man who aspires to the presidency is not even recognised in his own backyard. Truly remarkable. Edo trader, my foot."
Kendo wrote:
"What exactly can you do when it was Tinubu himself sponsoring you and purchasing the form for you? You have fulfilled your contract and collected your money. So, who are you fooling?"
