Israel, through the office of its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has reacted to the ceasefire announced by President Donald Trump in the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

President Trump had maintained that the ceasefire for two weeks is subject to "Iran immediately opening the straits and stopping all attacks on the US, Israel and countries in the region”.

However, Israel maintained that the “two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon”, according to Al Jazeera.

According to Israel, the country is supporting "the US efforts to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile and terror threat”, although Iran is not known to currently possess nuclear weapons.

In the wake of the development, Israel launched a fresh attack on southern Lebanon, an action justified by its earlier claim in the ceasefire.

Outrage as Israel strikes Lebanon amid ceasefire

Meanwhile, Israel's latest action against Lebanon has started generating reactions from many people. Below are some of the comments around the world:

Bhatzay Daan called on world leaders to make Israel accountable for war crimes:

"Now the world should go against Israel and stop them from doing another genocide. After the USA's defeat, it's the right time to make Israel accountable for human killings and destroying world peace; they need to be stopped today, it's Lebanon tomorrow, it can be another country."

Ivan M. Mutabazi said Iran has the right to have a nuclear weapon:

"We need to deal with this as well. Choke off Israel's oil at the Homuz strait. And most importantly, Iran needs a nuclear weapon. Otherwise, America and Israel will return very soon to assassinate leaders like you and others or create war again. We must remain steadfast."

Mustak Sandhi said President Trump would not be happy with Israel:

"Last time, Trump was furious with Israel. He was so angry that Israel continued to attack targets even immediately after the ceasefire on the 12-day war, he publicly declared, "I'm not happy with Israel" Trump will be angry with them again after they bombed Lebanon despite the ceasefire."

Latif Yusuf said Gulf countries would pay for the war:

"America has indicated that Donald Trump will now put the burden of this war on the Gulf countries. The war money will be recovered from the Gulf countries."

Powder Keg Daily decried the situation:

"Honestly, this whole situation is getting more chaotic by the day. feels like nobody's actually trying to de-escalate anything, just playing chess with people's lives. Hope the civilians can get out safely, but idk how realistic that is right now."
