Warner Bros. Games has officially set a September 18 launch date for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 port of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Fans who felt sidelined during the initial multi-platform rollout can finally experience what has become the highest-rated title in the franchise’s history. The game arrives alongside the brand new Mayhem Collection DLC and will be available in both a $70 USD Standard Edition and a $90 USD Deluxe Edition.

Physical collectors of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight gain an immediate incentive to opt for the premium tier. The physical Deluxe Edition includes a free Retro Video Game Batman minifigure while supplies last. This highly coveted collectible features a purple pixelated design paying homage to the classic 1989 Sunsoft title released on the NES. Anyone who pre-orders either version for the Nintendo Switch 2 will secure immediate access to a specialized Dark Knight Returns outfit. Premium buyers also receive a three-day early access period starting on September 15.

The debut of the Nintendo Switch 2 version coincides directly with the launch of the Mayhem Collection expansion across all platforms. The massive DLC pack introduces a fresh dynamic to the open-world Gotham City by allowing fans to play as The Joker and Harley Quinn. Players can wreak havoc in a dedicated Mayhem Mode or tackle a brand new villain-centric story mission. Additional content includes the Sinister Pack featuring alternate outfits for the seven existing playable characters alongside five extra Batcave items and an entirely new Batmobile.

Developed by TT Games, the base experience already established a new benchmark for family-friendly action with a dynamic combat system and deep comic lore. Bringing the open-world adventure to Nintendo’s hybrid console introduces the definitive superhero experience to a massive new audience. Existing owners on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC are not left out of the expansion cycle. Fans who already own LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on other consoles can upgrade to the Deluxe content for a standalone fee of $25 and instantly unlock the Legacy Collection before the Mayhem update drops this fall.
