Marvel Studios has officially added Gen V star Asa Germann to the cast of its upcoming X-Men reboot as Warren Worthington III, better known as the high-flying mutant Angel. The casting follows Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige’s initial ensemble reveal at the recent D23 convention.

Germann joins a growing mutant roster that includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Additionally, Adam Driver is set to star as the classic comic book antagonist Mr. Sinister. Directed by Thunderbolts* filmmaker Jake Schreier, the project reintroduces the wing-bearing hero who was previously portrayed by Ben Foster, Cayden Boyd, and Ben Hardy in Fox’s earlier X-Men film universe.

Before landing the role of Angel, Germann broke out as the near-invulnerable Sam Riordan in Amazon Prime Video’s superhero satire series Gen V. His recent screen credits also include appearances in The Boys, Scream 7, and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Marvel’s X-Men reboot is officially scheduled to open in theaters on May 5, 2028.
