The A24 project starts 34 days before Holmes is due to report to prison, when she invites a skeptical film crew to follow her, and expands from that setup into a three-year descent that reaches far beyond a conventional portrait.

The premise is anchored to a specific and unusual countdown. With just over a month left before her sentence begins, Holmes opens her life to a crew that approaches her with open doubt, framing the film’s central tension from the outset.
