Warner Bros. has officially released the final full trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune: Part Three, showcasing the tragic galactic consequences of Paul Atreides’ holy war. The new footage highlights Timothée Chalamet’s protagonist transformed into a ruthless dictator.
Adapted from Frank Herbert’s novel Dune: Messiah, the narrative picks up nearly two decades after the conclusion of Dune: Part Two. Now ruling the Imperium as a bald, hardened Emperor, Paul faces an escalating rebellion, impending collapse, and betrayal from former allies—including his estranged lover Chani, played by Zendaya, who sits at the center of an unfolding conspiracy against his throne.
Rather than serving as a conventional trilogy capper, director Denis Villeneuve described the production to Empire magazine as a “sophisticated epilogue” to the “diptych” formed by the first two films. Chalamet echoed that sentiment, noting that the project operates as “a standalone movie, in a sense. It’s its own beast.” The narrative directly executes Herbert’s literary intention to subvert traditional hero tropes, examining the immense devastation and moral cost of absolute power. The film stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Oscar nominee Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling, with Anya Taylor-Joy, and Robert Pattinson, and Oscar winner Javier Bardem.
Dune: Part Three arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026.
