Nathan Fielder Focuses on Elizabeth Holmes in ‘You Can See Everything’ Documentary Trailer

If you had a Nathan Fielder-directed documentary about Elizabeth Holmes on your 2026 bucket list, congratulations. The comedian’s latest project, as announced yesterday the Telluride Film Festival, is You Can See Everything, a documentary helmed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim that centers on Holmes’ life just being incarcerated in 2023.

A24 shared a teaser trailer for the documentary following its surprise premiere at Telluride. The short clip features Holmes telling Fielder that she has no reason to deceive him. “Why would I do that?” she says, eyes wide. A skeptical Fielder asks, “You’re being real right now?” “I’m always being real,” Holmes replies. The camera pulls back to reveal Holmes is in her home rocking her young baby.

A synopsis for the film reads: “Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss. From boundary-pushing directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim comes You Can See Everything.”

Vanity Fair confirmed that Fielder actually lived with the Theranos founder and her husband Billy Evans while making the documentary. The publication described the film as being “full of unexpected twists and turns and shocking reveals.” During a Q&A with the audience after the screening, Fielder said it was hard to make sense of what they were capturing.

“Lance and I would talk with the rest of the crew about what we thought happened or what we thought these moments meant, and no one could reach a consensus,” Fielder said. “And that’s when we really realized, ‘Oh, this is really interesting to follow this. We’re all smart and we’re really working at the top of our intelligence—why can’t we make sense of what’s happening in this house?’”

He added that despite following the couple for three years, he still isn’t sure what to make of Holmes. “I really am struggling to this day to understand exactly what I experienced,” Fielder said. “And one of the things I’m genuinely excited about is for this movie to come out and for people to help me understand what I experienced. Truly, to this day, I don’t quite know what I went through.”

You Can See Everything will be in theaters in October, although A24 hasn’t announced the exact release date.

Holmes was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in prison, plus three years of supervised release, in 2022. She was found guilty of lying to investors to make millions for blood-testing technology that she claimed would revolutionize healthcare but didn’t actually work. After being convicted she attempted to flee the country, pushed for a new trial, and begged not to be sent to jail. Her sentence has been reduced twice since. She is now scheduled to be released from prison on Aug. 16, 2032.
