Awards season will officially get underway when the nominees for the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are announced today, July 15.

The full list of nominations will be revealed during a livestream that’s set to start at 11:30 a.m. ET. The nominees will be read out by actors Harvey Guillen and Brenda Song, along with Television Academy chairman Cris Abrego.

The TV academy did reveal two categories early, however: Outstanding Reality Competition and Outstanding Talk Series. In the former category, last year’s winner, The Traitors, will compete against The Amazing RaceRuPaul’s Drag RaceSurvivor, and Top Chef. And in the Talk category, just three shows are featured: The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The 2025 Emmys should offer some intriguing competition, with a healthy mix of established favorites, well-revered newcomers, and returning champs. While last year’s main Drama winner, Shōgun, is not in the running this year, The White LotusSeverance, Slow Horses, and The Last of Us are back, along with one of this year’s big breakout shows, The Pitt

In the comedy category, Seth Rogen’s Hollywood satire The Studio could end up with several nominations, along with reliable Emmy favorites like The Bear, Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, and last year’s Outstanding Comedy winner Hacks

The 2025 Emmy Awards will take place Sept. 14. Comedian Nate Bargatze is set to host, marking the first time he’s helmed a major awards show.
