Here is what to know about the CFP title oddsboard:
Upset in First Quarterfinal Game: As a 7.5-point underdog, the Miami Hurricanes did the unthinkable and took down the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Mario Cristobal & Co. jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the first half, spearheaded by a 72-yard pick-six by Keionte Scott— the third-longest defensive score in CFP history. Miami's win was also tied for the second-biggest upset in the CFP ever by spread (7.5), and largest in terms of difference in CFP rank (9). The Hurricanes will take on the winner of Ole Miss and Georgia in the semifinals. They were +2200 to win the title entering the game, and have skyrocketed to +425.
Opening Results: In the first CFP contest, Alabama traveled to Norman and knocked off Oklahoma 34-24, avenging a regular-season home loss to the Sooners. Oklahoma took a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter, but was outscored 34-7 the rest of the way. Next up for the Tide? No. 1 Indiana. Oregon and Ole Miss both cruised in Round 1, over James Madison and Tulane, respectively. The Ducks now face Texas Tech, and the Rebels get a rematch against Georgia, which they lost to back in October. Lastly, Miami outlasted Texas A&M, 13-10, to book a date with the defending champion Buckeyes.
