Power failure disrupts another NTA exam in Jaipur, 49 candidates affected

A power failure disrupted the AIAPGET 2026 exam at a Jaipur centre on August 22. The NTA has scheduled a fresh test on September 1 for affected candidates.

The All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) 2026 was disrupted at an examination centre in Jaipur after a power failure left 49 candidates unable to complete their test. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for the affected candidates on September 1.

The incident occurred at Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur, where 192 candidates appeared for the examination. According to the NTA, the power failure prevented 49 candidates from completing the computer-based test.

The agency said the disruption was attributed to its examination conducting agency, Eduquity Career Technologies Private Limited, and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to candidates.

WHAT HAPPENED IN JAIPUR?

The AIAPGET examination was conducted in Shift-I on August 22. Of the 36,979 candidates registered for the shift, 35,837 appeared across 200 examination centres in the country.

While the examination was completed for 35,788 candidates, the 49 candidates at the Jaipur centre could not finish their papers because of the power failure.

Reports from the centre also indicated further disruption during the second shift. The power supply reportedly remained unavailable, affecting the conduct of the online examination for candidates scheduled to appear later in the day.

Candidates for the second shift were scheduled to enter the centre between 1 pm and 2.30 pm, but reports said many remained waiting outside even after 3 pm.

The first shift had been scheduled from 10 am to noon, but the power reportedly went out around 10.15 am.

RE-EXAM ON SEPTEMBER 1

NTA has now decided to conduct a fresh examination for all candidates who were unable to complete the test. The re-examination will be held on September 1, 2026, at 10 am at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur.

NTA said affected candidates will receive revised admit cards containing further details about the re-examination.
