NEET UG 2026 re-test: Section 163 imposed around exam centres in Dehradun

Dehradun has imposed Section 163 restrictions around NEET UG re-examination centres for June 21. The order bars gatherings, weapons and loudspeakers, with violators liable under Section 223 of the BNSS.

To ensure the peaceful, secure, and fair conduct of the NEET (UG) Re-Examination 2026, scheduled to be held on June 21 by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Dehradun administration has imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) around the NEET UG re-exam 2026 centres.

The order has been issued by Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Krishna Kumar Mishra.

SECTION 163 IMPOSED AROUND NEET EXAM CENTRES

According to the order, several restrictions will remain in force within a 200-metre radius of the examination centres to maintain law and order.

The carrying of weapons, lathis, sticks, knives, and other potentially dangerous objects has been prohibited during the examination period. Activities such as writing slogans on government buildings, using loudspeakers, delivering inflammatory speeches, and distributing objectionable material have also been banned.

Restrictions have also been imposed on the assembly of five or more persons, the holding of processions, demonstrations, and public meetings, as well as the movement of vehicles in groups near examination centres.

In addition, any act causing damage to government property has been strictly prohibited.

The administration has clarified that these restrictions will remain in force until the conclusion of the NEET (UG) Re-Examination 2026 on June 21. Any person found violating the order will face action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
