Pati Patni Aur Woh Do box office Day 2: Ayushmann's film nears Rs 10 crore in India

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do collected Rs 9.75 crore nett in India in two days after showing a slight jump in collections on Saturday. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, the comedy-drama earned Rs 5.75 crore on day two following a slow opening at the box office.

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, directed by Mudassar Aziz and starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh, showed a slight improvement at the box office on its second day after a slow opening. The comedy-drama, which released in theatres on May 15, has collected Rs 9.75 crore nett in India in two days.

According to trade website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5.75 crore nett in India on Saturday from 6,717 shows with a 16 per cent occupancy rate. While the overall numbers remain modest, the film recorded a noticeable jump from its opening-day collection.

On Friday, the film collected Rs 4.38 crore nett from 6,822 shows with a 12 per cent occupancy. Its worldwide gross now stands at Rs 13.70 crore since release.

The current numbers are lower than those of the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh, starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. The original film had collected Rs 9.1 crore on its opening day and Rs 12.33 crore on day two. It eventually finished with a domestic total of Rs 84.56 crore nett.

The new film still has Sunday to improve its collections before weekday numbers are expected to slow down.

In its review of the film, India Today wrote, "Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is not great cinema. It is not groundbreaking, unforgettable or emotionally layered. But it is enjoyable enough, consistently watchable and powered by an actor who has clearly returned to his strongest zone. That is enough for a casual Friday movie outing."

Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana, the film also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan in key roles.
