The final trailer for Dune: Part Three has been released by Warner Bros., revealing Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides as a tyrannical dictator facing the catastrophic fallout of his empire. Directed by Denis Villeneuve and adapted from Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel Dune Messiah, the sci-fi trilogy closer is scheduled to hit cinemas worldwide on December 18.
Picking up nearly two decades after Paul seized control of the Imperium, the final trailer establishes his complete transformation into an iron-fisted emperor known as Muad’Dib. Rather than a heroic ruler, the footage portrays a dictator confronting the devastating consequences of his holy war, navigating a web of political conspiracies, and facing a growing list of deadly enemies.
Crucially, the trailer highlights the emotional and political rift between Paul and his former love, Chani, played by Zendaya, who now stands among those opposing his rule.
As the third instalment unfolds, the narrative follows the emperor's desperate struggle to maintain his grip on power amid rising rebellions across the cosmos. Paul's calculated decisions will ultimately shape the fate of the desert planet Arrakis and the billions of lives caught in the escalating conflict.
Alongside Chalamet and Zendaya, the ensemble cast of Dune: Part Three features returning stars Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, and Jason Momoa returning as Duncan Idaho. Joining the franchise for the final chapter is Robert Pattinson, who makes his debut as the primary antagonist, the Face Dancer Scytale.
Dune: Part Three is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Patrick McCormick, Tanya Lapointe, and Denis Villeneuve, alongside executive producers Joshua Grode, Herbert W Gains, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Kim Herbert, and Byron Merritt.
Backed by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros Pictures, Warner Bros will handle worldwide theatrical distribution for the film.
