Karuppu box office Day 4: Suriya's phenomenal run continues with first Monday

Suriya's comeback storm is here. With Rs 141 crore worldwide in just four days, Karuppu has not only emerged as 2026's biggest Tamil hit so far, but also become the highest-grossing film of Suriya's career.

Suriya's Karuppu is on a sensational run worldwide. The RJ Balaji directorial recorded a fabulous first Monday business and has already emerged as the biggest Tamil film of the year so far. The mythological-action drama grossed Rs 20 crore on its fourth day, taking the business to Rs 141.30 crore worldwide.

This is also the farthest that Suriya's films have gone so far - beating his Singam 2 (Rs 120 crore) to emerge as the actor's highest-grossing film worldwide.

  • Friday: Rs 29 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 46 crore

Back home too, Karuppu showed its organic strength on first Monday. The film continued to collect in double digits, showing an acceptable Monday drop. The Tamil actioner collected Rs 14.30 crore nett, taking the four-day domestic business to Rs 82.30 crore nett, with gross figures nearing the benchmark of Rs 100 crore (Rs 95.30 crore).

The film has also posted strong numbers in overseas markets. It has found traction in the Middle East, North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, reflecting Suriya's growing appeal among Tamil cinema audiences internationally.

On Day 4 alone, Karuppu grossed Rs 4 crore from overseas markets. Its total international collection has now reached Rs 46 crore, making it one of the biggest overseas successes of Suriya's career.

With the word-of-mouth slowly growing on social media, the film is not expected to slow down in the coming days. This is the box office comeback that Suriya has been pegging on for a few years now.

Karuppu, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, also features Trisha Krishnan, RJ Balaji, Shivada, Yogi Babu and Swasika among others.
