NEET-UG 2026 re-test: Himachal govt announces free HRTC bus travel for aspirants
The Himachal Pradesh government has announced free travel on HRTC ordinary buses for NEET-UG 2026 candidates from June 20 to June 22. The move is aimed at helping students from remote areas reach exam centres without added stress or travel costs.
by Aman Kumar Bhardwaj · India TodayTo facilitate candidates appearing for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, the Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to provide free travel on Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) ordinary buses.
Acting on the directions of Transport Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, the HRTC headquarters has issued instructions to all unit officers to extend this facility to NEET candidates from June 20 to June 22.
Mr. Agnihotri stated that many students in the state travel from remote areas to reach their examination centres.
Keeping in mind the convenience of students and their parents, the government has taken this decision to ensure that no candidate faces transportation-related difficulties while reaching their examination venue.
He added that the government wants students to appear for the examination free from stress, additional concerns, and financial burdens.
According to HRTC’s instructions, the facility will be available on ordinary buses operated by the corporation.
ADMIT CARD TO SERVE AS PROOF FOR FREE RAVEL FACILITY
Candidates will be entitled to one free journey from their place of residence to the examination centre and one free return journey.
The NEET admit card will serve as valid proof of identity, residence, and examination centre for availing of the benefit.
Extending his best wishes to all NEET candidates, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to supporting the bright future of the youth and providing all possible assistance to students appearing for competitive examinations.
He expressed confidence that the students of Himachal Pradesh would excel through their talent and hard work, bringing laurels to the state.
