Almost a month after South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron's death, her aunt has now come forward with claims about how K-drama star Kim Soo-hyun was in a long-term relationship with her niece. She also alleged that the pair began dating when Sae-ron was only a minor.

In a video shared by the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, Sae-ron's aunt said that they parted ways in 2021. According to her aunt, Sae-ron was only 15, while Soo-hyun was 27 when the two started seeing each other.

Earlier, Sae-ron's cousin had claimed that reporters would flood her message box wanting to know the truth about their relationship.

In 2024, Sae-ron shared a photo with Soo-hyun which quickly went viral. Later, Sae-ron deleted the image from her social media handle. At the time, Sae-ron had shared that she would share with a statement. However, she didn't.

Now her alleged unpublished statement has surfaced online, a part of which reads, "I wish to apologise to everyone and the industry staff who were affected and confused by my careless actions. Although the media is reporting the rumours which have been spreading as falsehoods, I wish to clearly state that that is untrue. The photo uploaded on my Instagram Stories was taken in 2016, and we were dating from November 19, 2015, to July 7, 2021," Koreaboo reported.

In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, issued a press statement, rejecting the claims as “baseless and malicious.” The agency stated that it would not tolerate such accusations against the star.
