Singer-actor Lady Gaga has joined the team of Wednesday Season 2. While the details of Lady Gaga's role remain under wraps, Variety confirmed that it will be a cameo in the highly anticipated second season of the megahit Netflix series, currently being filmed in Ireland. Initially, the production team had hoped to cast Gaga in a larger role, but those plans did not come to fruition.
Gaga’s cameo in the popular series follows the viral resurgence of her 2011 hit Bloody Mary on TikTok, where it was paired with Jenna Ortega's viral dance from the Netflix show. The artist embraced the trend by sharing her own TikTok video.
This will be Lady Gaga's latest acting venture after she featured in Joker: Folie Deux alongside Joaquin Phoenix. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in A Star Is Born, where she starred with Bradley Cooper.
Jenna Ortega had previously shared with Variety that she was confident Netflix would love to have Gaga appear in the new season, especially after the viral TikTok dance video.
Ortega will return as Wednesday Addams in Season 2, while Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo have all been upped to series regulars.
Meanwhile, Gaga is currently working on her seventh solo pop album, set for release in February 2025. Following two Grammy nominations for her collaboration with Bruno Mars on Die With a Smile earlier this month, she recently released a live version of Disease, titled The Antidote edition, along with an instrumental version of the track.
