by Saumya Shubham Jha · India TodayTata Motors has launched the updated 2026 Tiago EV facelift in India at a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom), introducing a refresh for its entry-level electric hatchback. The facelift brings notable revisions to the exterior and interior design, adds several premium features and strengthens the safety package, while retaining the existing battery and motor options.
The Tiago EV continues to sit as Tata Motors’ most affordable electric vehicle and rivals models such as the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3 in the Indian market.
Exterior design
The refreshed Tiago EV receives a redesigned front fascia featuring sleeker LED headlamps, eyebrow-style LED daytime running lamps and a cleaner closed-off grille finished in body colour. Tata Motors has also revised the front bumper with new faux air intake elements positioned at the edges to give the hatchback a more modern appearance.
In profile, the electric hatchback now rides on newly designed 15-inch wheels and gets contrasting black cladding around the wheel arches. At the rear, the biggest highlight is the addition of connected LED tail-lamps, complemented by a redesigned bumper for a cleaner look.
Other styling updates include a dual-tone black roof, chrome-finished door handles and a shark-fin antenna. Buyers can choose from six colour options – Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey and Pristine White.
Interior design
Inside, the Tiago EV features a redesigned dual-tone dashboard layout with a more contemporary design theme. The centrepiece is a new free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a partially digital TFT instrument cluster that now supports Bluetooth connectivity.
Tata Motors says the Tiago EV’s upgraded electrical and electronic architecture now offers higher processing capability, enabling support for a broader feature list. The hatchback now comes equipped with connected car technology offering over 40 functions, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox, auto-folding ORVMs and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
Additional upgrades include redesigned door trims, a front centre armrest, fresh grey fabric upholstery and a revised centre console finished in gloss black. The console also integrates dual wireless charging pads and a rotary drive selector. The familiar two-spoke steering wheel has been retained but now carries Tata.ev branding.
Safety package expanded
Safety equipment on the updated Tiago EV has seen a substantial improvement. Tata Motors now offers six airbags as standard across the range, replacing the earlier dual-airbag setup.
The hatchback also gets electronic stability control with traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD and torque vectoring by braking. Tata has additionally introduced a 360-degree camera system with multiple viewing modes and a blind-view monitor.
Other convenience and safety features include automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and follow-me-home headlamps. Tata Motors also claims to have improved the structural rigidity of the hatchback for enhanced occupant protection.
Battery packs, range and charging
Mechanically, the Tiago EV continues with two battery pack options – a 19.2kWh unit and a larger 24kWh pack.
The smaller battery variant produces 62bhp and 110Nm of torque, while the larger battery version develops 75bbp and 114Nm. Tata Motors claims the 24kWh version now delivers a MIDC-certified range of 285km, slightly lower than the previous 293km figure. Meanwhile, the 19.2kWh variant sees a marginal improvement, with its claimed range increasing to 226km from 223km earlier.
The company states that the real-world C75 range figures stand at approximately 160-170km for the smaller battery pack and 205-215km for the larger version.
Charging performance has also improved. Tata says the updated Tiago EV can add up to 100km of range in just 18 minutes and supports DC fast charging. Using a 30kW DC fast charger, both battery versions can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes.
Customers can also choose between 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC charging setups depending on the variant.
The updated Tiago EV continues to offer City and Sport drive modes along with four levels of regenerative braking. Tata Motors claims the 24kWh version can accelerate from 0-60kph in 5.7 seconds.
For added peace of mind, Tata Motors is now offering a lifetime unlimited kilometre warranty on the high-voltage battery pack of the 24kWh variant for the first registered owner. The 19.2kWh version continues with an 8-year/1.6 lakh kilometre battery warranty.
